Prickly pear seed oil is one of the rarest beauty oils in the world. It takes around a tonne of cactus fruit to produce just one litre, because the oil comes only from the tiny seeds. In Morocco it's treasured as the ultimate face oil for radiant, supple, youthful-looking skin.

How to use it under the eyes

Best at night. Use one tiny drop, dab it between your ring fingers, and gently tap around the orbital bone (under the eye and the outer corner). Don't rub, and don't apply too close to the lash line. It helps the look of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines.

Neck and décolletage

Morning or night, apply 2–3 drops with upward strokes (never drag the skin down) and massage until absorbed. This area shows signs of ageing quickly, so consistency makes a big difference.

Hands

Any time, especially before bed, massage 1–2 drops into each hand, nails and cuticles for smoother, younger-looking hands.

Body

After a shower, when skin absorbs best, use a few drops on elbows, knees, stretch marks or dry patches. You can also mix it into your body lotion for a luxury feel.

After a face mask

Prickly pear is the perfect final step after a Nila or Ranila mask, leaving freshly cleansed skin soft and glowing.

For hair

Massage a few drops into the scalp and mid-lengths to ends as a leave-in or pre-wash treatment.
